Peter’s leadership is grounded in the belief that Indigenous economic reconciliation requires practical action, trusted relationships, and measurable outcomes. Upon assuming the role of President and CEO of CCIB, his focus will beon supporting Indigenous businesses, strengthening corporate partnerships, advancing procurement opportunities, promoting entrepreneurship, and helping governments and industry move from commitment to implementation. 

During his tenure at YMCA Canada, Peter worked closely with local YMCAs, national partners, governments, and boards to strengthen the federation, advance reconciliation, support children, youth, and families, and position the YMCA as a trusted community-serving organization. His time at the YMCA included significant national initiatives in advocacy, governance, strategy, reconciliation, and federation-wide collaboration. 

At the Assembly of First Nations, Peter supported national First Nations advocacy, governance, and policy work during a period of significant public attention and complexity. At the National Association of Friendship Centres, he helped lead a national network of urban Indigenous organizations and strengthened programs supporting Indigenous people in communities across Canada.   

Peter has extensive governance experience and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. He serves on the Board of Directors of Wawanesa Insurance, CSA Group, and Oshkiigmong Economic Development Corporation, the economic development corporation of Curve Lake First Nation. He has also served on the Canadian Olympic Committee, the National Council for Reconciliation, and several other national and community boards. 

Peter’s contributions to leadership, governance, and Indigenous advancement have been widely recognized. He is a recipient of the Order of Ontario and an Indspire Award, and he continues to be called upon for his experience in Indigenous relations, reconciliation, public policy, governance, and national leadership. 

Above all, Peter is proud of his family and his community. Away from work, he can usually be found spending time with family or testing his resilience as a devoted Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
