Dan, a lifelong resident of Northwestern Ontario, who has 27 years in the Financial Industry, is dedicated to Reconciliation as it is personal for him as his daughters are Anishinaabe Kwe, members of Sagkeeng First Nation.
Dan first started as a Commercial Account Manager, then Vice President of Indigenous Banking Unit and now Head of BMO’s Office of Reconciliation.
BMO’s Office of Reconciliation was created to guide and support the organization’s journey toward Reconciliation.
Building on strong, long-standing relationships with Indigenous communities and grounded in BMO’s Indigenous Strategy—focused on education, employment, and economic empowerment—the Office plays a key role in advancing the bank’s response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action 92.
Under the leadership of Dan, the Office works across the bank to help embed Reconciliation into BMO’s culture and everyday decision-making. Dan’s work is focused on ensuring that BMO’s actions reflect its core values of inclusion, accountability, and respect for Indigenous rights and perspectives.
Dan has won many professional awards, including several Conference of Stars, however the proudest accomplishment is earning the trust and respect from Indigenous friends, family and customers. Learning Indigenous culture, language and customs will continue to be motivation to better serve our customers and represent BMO.
