LISA ODJIG: 7 Time Hoop Dance Champion/Two Time World Champion Hoop Dancer
Lisa is Odawa, Ojibwe, Potawatomi Nation from Wikwemikong, Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada.
Lisa is the first woman to win World Champion Hoop dancer at the prestigious, Annual Heard Museum World Championship Hoop Dance Contest in Phoenix, Arizona in the Adult division. She is a Two Time World Champion Hoop Dancer, along with five additional hoop dance championship titles won throughout Canada and USA in the Adult category. Lisa has performed for several professional sports Halftime shows including the NBA Toronto Raptors, NHL Toronto Maple Leafs, CFL Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tigers Cats, Toronto TFC Soccer, including the UCONN Huskies Basketball halftime show in Hartford, Connecticut.

Lisa has performed throughout Canada, United States, and overseas including, Italy, France, Holland, Germany, Korea, Mexico, Israel, Palestine, Bethlehem, Jamaica and Africa. Lisa is a former member of the professional North American Indian Dance Theatre. She performed at the Winter Olympic Games Closing Ceremony in Salt Lake City, Utah, the Pan American & Para Pan American Games Closing and Opening Ceremonies held in Toronto. Lisa was the featured hoop dancer at the Calgary Stampede Grandstand show-five times.
Lisa holds 3 Iron Woman Fancy Dance Championship titles won in Canada and USA.
Lisa performed for the late Queen Elizabeth II and was the invited hoop dancer hosted by Environment Canada to perform the traditional Hoop Dance for United Nations, Meeting of the Parties Global Climate Change Summit in Montreal, QC and at the 2025 Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation in Ethiopia, East Africa.
