Maya Abusa Rosborough is a 17 year old member of the Kwaguʼł Nation. She is a proud Indigenous youth athlete, leader and community member.  

Maya has played soccer since the age of four and has gained many important life skills through team building, leadership and resilience in sport. She is a member of the Na̱sta̱m̓wa Academy soccer program and also attended the Bears’ Lair Sport Camp, growing as an athlete and connecting with other young leaders across BC.  

Maya is honoured to share her journey and hopes her experiences encourage other Indigenous youth to pursue their passions, embrace new opportunities and take pride in who they are and where they come from.
