Ryan St. Germaine is a proud Red River Métis citizen (Manitoba Métis Federation), with mixed settler family heritage — Ukrainian, British, and Doukhobor. He is a founder and ecosystem builder based in Vancouver. 

Ryan is the Founder and CEO of Indigenous Tech Circle (ITC), Canada’s largest Indigenous-led technology community. ITC connects First Nations, Inuit, and Métis technologists, founders, and students to each other — and to the capital, mentorship, and opportunities that have historically routed around them. He started it because the talent was already there. The pathways weren’t.  

Today ITC runs the Annual Indigenous Tech Conference, local chapters across the country, and programming that moves people from curious to hired to funded. Ryan also co-founded the Indigenous Venture Challenge with Richard Tuck, a competition that gets investment into Indigenous-led ventures rather than just attention. 

His focus right now is AI. Every technology wave so far has reached Indigenous communities late and on someone else’s terms. Ryan is working to make this one different — Indigenous entrepreneurs, workers, and organizations using these tools now, building with them, and standing at the front edge of what comes next. That’s the shift he’s after: Indigenous people as the innovators, not the last group invited to the demo. 

Ryan serves in board and committee roles with Raven Indigenous Capital Partners, Innovate BC, and the Indigenous Friends Association.
