Missty Slater (Ioway) is a community organizer and policy and economic strategist with over 15 years of experience. She was appointed as the Chief of Staff for the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska in 2023, and became an advisor to the Tribal Executive Committee, offering insights and counsel on pivotal matters. That led her to her current position as Community Impact Director for Grey Snow, a company wholly owned by the Iowa Tribe, where she leads outreach and relationships to support holistic approaches to workforce development, trade, and economic strategy for Tribal Nations. This work includes the development of the Iowa Tribe’s Foreign Trade Zone to enhance global Indigenous trade capacity.

Apart from her primary role at Grey Snow, Ms. Slater actively volunteers as the Secretary on the Board of Directors for the White Cloud Health Center, was a vital member of the Tribe’s Constitution Committee, and has served as a delegate on Indigenous business development trade missions in Australia, Alaska, and Japan.
