Karen Restoule is a senior fellow with Macdonald-Laurier Institute, Canada’s only truly national public policy think tank. She also works in public affairs at the intersection of government, industry, and First Nations as it relates to policy, people, and projects. As a former public sector executive, Karen led Ontario’s administrative justice system. She also served Ontario First Nations in her role as director of justice at Chiefs of Ontario, leading the development of innovative policy solutions to legacy challenges.
A sought-after voice on Indigenous economic and governance reconciliation, Karen appears regularly as a guest speaker on national radio, podcasts, conferences, and is a contributing writer at www.thehub.ca Karen also lends her expertise to a number of advisory bodies, including Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, TC Energy, Connected North.
Karen is Ojibwe from Dokis First Nation, who are signatory to the Robinson-Huron Treaty of 1850.
