Michael Jacobs is a member of the Curve Lake First Nation, a graduate of McMaster University and an experienced First Nation entrepreneur. Over his 30 year career in First Nations economic development, Mr. Jacobs has raised over $30M for First Nation based economic development projects and trained hundreds of First Nation members, leaders and organizations in all facets of operations including strategic planning, business planning and day to day operational strategies. Mr. Jacobs is currently the CEO of Cambium Indigenous Professional Services (CIPS), an advisory consulting firm specializing in Indigenous engagement, energy planning, land relationship visioning, community and organizational development and Indigenous awareness training for C-Suite professionals.
Michael is currently the Co-Chair for the CCIB, and holds board positions at Green Communities Canada and the Ontario First Nation Technical Services Corporation. Within CIPS, Mr. Jacobs manages two formal partnerships: AC7G (Aecon, CIPS Seven Generations) JV and CIPS QM Inc. He also manages informal partnerships in translation services and office furniture.
